There is no medication for Anorexia nervosa. But doctors do sometimes prescribe certain antidepressants or other types of medicines for the treatment of symptoms of Anorexia nervosa. More recently, atypical antipsychotics including Olanzapine (Zyprexa) and Risperidone (Risperdal) are used and these medications have been shown to be effective in facilitating weight restoration and reducing anxiety.
